For signed-in app users, we record the account email, email-verification status, sign-in method, app used, first recorded visit and most recent visit. These records are visible only to the authorised owner to manage app access, subscriptions and support. Anonymous daily practice is not linked to an email account.
Sacred Bansi Academy, operated by Nishant Divate, respects your privacy. This policy explains how the Sacred Bansi Academy website and Android app collect, use, protect, retain and delete personal information.
Swar Tuner Demo and Pro
Effective date for this section: 28 October 2026. This section applies specifically to the standalone Swar Tuner Demo and Swar Tuner Pro Android apps by Sacred Bansi Academy / Nishant Divate. These tuner apps do not use the student accounts or academy cloud features described elsewhere on this page.
Microphone: the apps request microphone permission to detect the pitch of a note you play or sing. Audio is processed temporarily on your device while the tuner is open. The apps do not record audio files, upload audio or transmit it to us or third parties. Capture stops when the app goes into the background.
Local settings: your last-used base Sa, cents offset and notation are stored on the device. Demo also stores its remaining free tuning time locally. The pitch-history display is held temporarily in memory. No account, advertising identifier, analytics SDK or internet permission is included in these standalone tuner apps.
Purchases: when Pro is purchased through Google Play, Google processes the purchase and associated payment information under its own policies. The tuner app does not receive or store your card or UPI credentials. We do not collect or share personal data through the tuner app.
Control and deletion: microphone permission can be revoked in Android app settings. Local tuner settings and trial data can be removed by clearing the app storage or uninstalling the app. If you contact us by email, we receive and use your message to provide support. Alankar Riyaz and Sarali Varisai Studio
This section applies to our separate Hindustani and Carnatic practice apps, their web versions, and Android editions. Each app has its own membership. The Play Store release is intended for users aged 13 and above.
Guest practice: you can practise for two minutes daily without registering. The guest practice counter, settings, favourites, custom ragas, personal exercises and private exercise corrections are stored on your device. These personal practice records are not uploaded for cloud synchronisation. Exported files remain under your control.
Optional accounts: Firebase Authentication processes your email address, account identifier and authentication credentials when you register or sign in. Google sign-in may also provide your name and profile information to Firebase. Passwords are not stored by the practice app. Android refresh tokens are protected using Android Keystore; other local practice settings use app storage.
Access verification: when a signed-in Android user checks membership, the app sends an authenticated account identifier and a randomly generated installation identifier to our access service. We use this to verify membership and prevent misuse of access allowances. Daily installation reservation records are removed after 14 days. The guest practice counter remains local. Internet is needed for sign-in, shared-library updates, payment and access verification; practice can play offline while verified access remains valid.
Payments: the Google Play editions use Google Play Billing. Our service processes purchase tokens, product and package identifiers, subscription/order information, payment status and access expiry dates to verify purchases and renewals. Website and directly distributed Android editions use Razorpay. Payment providers process payment credentials; the academy does not receive or store complete card or UPI credentials. Membership information is retained as needed to provide access and meet applicable legal, accounting and fraud-prevention obligations.
Permissions and providers: these practice apps do not request microphone, camera, contacts or location access, and do not include advertising or behavioural analytics SDKs. Android uses an ongoing media notification and playback service to continue practice with the screen off. Optional exercise import uses the system file picker. Firebase provides authentication; our hosting service provides the library and membership service. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. These providers process information to provide these services; we do not sell it or share it for targeted advertising.
Your controls: sign out to end account access on the device. Clear app or browser storage to remove local practice data, or use available delete controls for personal exercises. To request deletion of your account and eligible associated server records, use Account → Delete account or our account deletion instructions. Deleting an account does not cancel a Google Play subscription: cancel renewal separately in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Payment records may be retained when required by law.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
- Account information: your name, email address and account identifier when you register or sign in.
- Learning information: course enrolment, access status, class schedules and information needed to provide lessons.
- Communications: enquiries, support messages and private messages exchanged with the guru through the website or app.
- Technical information: limited service and security information automatically processed by our hosting and authentication providers so the service can operate safely.
We do not use the app to collect precise location, contacts, health information, photos, microphone recordings or advertising identifiers. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure student accounts, provide enrolled course and class access, show schedules and learning materials, reply to messages and enquiries, manage the academy, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.
Payments
Alankar Riyaz membership uses an account identifier, the free-trial start date, subscription identifiers, payment status and paid-access expiry dates to provide the same trial and subscription on web and Android. Razorpay processes subscription payments; complete card and UPI credentials are not stored by the academy.
The separate Alankar Riyaz and Sarali Varisai Studio editions provide two free practice minutes daily without login. See the practice-app section above for local storage, account access, and Google Play or Razorpay payment handling.
If a student uses an external payment service, payment credentials such as card or UPI details are processed by that payment provider under its own privacy policy. Sacred Bansi Academy does not store complete card or UPI credentials.
Service providers and sharing
We use trusted service providers, including Google Firebase, for authentication, database and related infrastructure. These providers process information only to deliver their services to us and according to their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when legally required or when necessary to protect users, the academy or the public. We do not sell or rent student information.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including authenticated access and encrypted network connections. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so students should protect their passwords and contact us if they suspect unauthorised access.
Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain legitimate business and learning records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your Sacred Bansi Academy account and associated personal data at any time. See our account deletion instructions. After verifying the request, we will delete or anonymise eligible information, except where retention is legally required.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact us before providing personal information for a child.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
